Vacationing At Vermont’s Silver Lake State Park

Vermont is such a pretty state. My husband and I spent part of our honeymoon at a bed & breakfast in West Townshend and loved the area. The green trees and rolling hills are a beautiful backdrop for any outdoor activity you may choose. Silver Lake State Park is the perfect location to take a little trip for those outdoor games. Things Are Looking Up! – Boston week #4

'UpTake' on the 114th Boston Marathon Finish Line

22,628 + me completed the 114th Boston Marathon one week ago and I am still buzzing from the runner’s high. This year’s Baaston Marathon was off the hook fun!!

Why?? New England in the springtime is simply glorious and if you are running a race or not, the magnolias in full bloom, the proud daffodils brightly shining in the sunlight and the scullers rhythmically counting the turns of their oars on the glistening Charles River are moments that call for an ‘UpTake.’ Yup, that’s right, a moment to sit outside in a park, sip some hot tea, look UP at the sky and TAKE some time to say “yes, life is good.” On race day, I was not sipping tea but the weather was perfect, the flowers were bursting and the the crowds were loud!!!

The Frank Lloyd Wright Tour

Other cities may claim Frank Loyd Wright but it’s Chicago, or more specifically Oak Park, where he  lived and developed his famous prairie style architecture.  I’m not all that into architecture but living in Oak Park and seeing the broad eves of the elongated roofs and lengthy bands of windows on these houses is fascinating.  They do slightly resemble the Japanese homes that influenced him. People from all over the world visit Oak Park just to get a glimpse of these imposing buildings.
