Disney Cruise Lines rung in 2009 with fireworks over the Caribbean and balloons in the lobby of the Disney Magic. Also in 2009, Disney began building two new ships which will enter service in 2011 and 2012.

The Mexican-American border in Nogales
Through the town of Nogales there is a wall. On one side of said wall is Nogales, Arizona, and on the other is Nogales, Sonora. That, mis agmigos, is Mexico.
I’m going to tell you a story, not because I’m proud of it, but because it happened. There is a lot of culture, art and shopping to be enjoyed in Nogales, Mexico, but this post isn’t about it. This post is about my night as an Ugly American and all that that entails. If you visit Nogales, Mexico, on any given day you will see many of me – far worse really, and no, it’s not your vision. Finish your tequila.

To the Belgians they are Brussel Waffles. What's in a name - pass the fork!
My personal experiences in Belgium have, over the years, been reduced to flitting shapes and shadows. This is not a reflection on the region or the people, but rather a reminder that all I know of Belgium I learned through a train window. At night. It leaves something to the imagination.
Here’s what I do know about Belgium, they make good chocolate, beer and waffles. Throw in the fact that they created french fries and you’ve covered all the major food groups.

The Chapel Bridge (14th century)
When the train stopped in Lucerne it was a holiday and the town was quiet. We had just spent hours along the tunnels and snow-covered tracks of a railway through the Swiss Alps and we were hungry. Sadly, the only thing open between us and our hostel was a McDonald’s in the train station. We ate there begrudgingly.
It cost $10 dollars (U.S) for a meal-deal. It was 1996 and the dollar was stronger than it is now. I can’t imagine what kind of change Mickey D’s is raking in over there these days.
We had just spent a few extra days in Prague and we were already late for Barcelona. We decided the pocket-friendly thing to do was cut our visit in Switzerland down to one night. Hey, we were on a budget.
