You may have heard that they do things are bigger in Texas, well there state parks aren’t any different. They are bigger and I won’t say better, I’ll let you judge for yourself.
Garner State Park contains 1419.8 acres of recreational fun just waiting for you.
Famous for: The park has deep canyons with crystal clear streams and is a geological wonder. There are carved limestone cliffs from the Cretaceous age, namely the Glen Rose formation. It’s a collection of limestone, shale, marl and siltstone beds that was deposited along the shifting seas where dinosaurs were said to roam.
Admission: The daily use fee for Garner State Park is $6.00 per day for guests 13 and older and $4.00 per day for overnight use. There are extra vehicle charges and FYI, day use is over at 11pm when there is a dance.
Families with teenagers will like: There are nearby attractions like Hill Country State Natural Area, and Devil’s Sinkhole State Natural area that are great to explore.

Other travelers will like: The natural attractions in the park include white-tailed deer and Axis deer and is a great place to do a little bird watching. some of the amenities are biking, boating, concession, dancing dining hall, miniature golf, playground and last but not least hot showers.
Easy site seeing: The geological formations are truly a wonderful thing to see and the dinosaur footprints are too good to miss.
Best Campground: The campgrounds are divided into two sections: Old Garner and New Garner, but both are located along the Frio River. There is a grocery store, mini-golf and paddle-boats in the Old Garner section. The New Garner section is a little more secluded.
