Our Take on Springdale, Arkansas
Springdale Arkansas is the proud owner of a new minor league AA Ballpark, home of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Springdale’s Arvest Ballpark enjoyed well-deserved praise for the impressive stonework and brilliant white canopies above. We found this new facility offers families a more cost-effective way to enjoy a day at the ballpark Kids, families, and seniors love the historic Arkansas and Missouri Railroad, a faithfully restored passenger train that travels through a quarter mile tunnel, atop high trestles, and transits beautiful river valleys. Passengers stop for lunch and shopping at the quaint town of Van Buren, before returning to Springdale.
For visitors who are interested in the history, culture, and lifestyle of the Ozark Mountains, Springdale offers a great vacation base. The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History is located right here, with hands-on working displays, civil war history, reference material, historic photographs, and the chance to dress up as an Ozark pioneer. We found this Ozark Museum a kid-friendly choice for a wonderful Springdale Arkansas Family Vacation. Shiloh was the original name of Springdale.
Families and adults desiring more outdoor, active adventure flock to the Devil’s Den State Park, where camping, horseback riding, rock climbing, hiking, and even cave exploration draw visitors to this park, with facilities built by the CCC back in the 1930’s.
