National Civil Rights Museum
"Every American should go to this museum. The motel where part of the museum is located brings back vivid memories of the picture where MLK was talking to others on the "balcony" outside his room. It was eerie. I felt like I was in a sacred place. There is a lot about MLK's life & work including a recreation of his hotel room and the room across the street of the asassin %items from trial including evidence & forensics. But it is more than just the place where MLK was murdered, it is also a brilliant display of the history of civil rights going back before we became a country. Some interactive displays such as an old city bus you go into. When you sit down you are told to go to the back of the bus. It gave me a sense of what that must have felt like and made me wonder how that could have ever been status quo in the land of the free and equality." - a Yahoo user

Carriage Tours of Memphis
"The carriages line up right outside the downtown hotels in the evenings. The drivers are very friendly. You can pet the horses, and get a great tour. They do not have to follow a specific route if there is something special you want to see. They take you down main street which is a brick street which does not allow car traffic, by Beale street, along the park by the Mississippi River (where we saw the sun sitting over the Mississippi River bridge), and by many other attractions. The driver will talk to you and tell you about the sites or leave you alone for a "romantic" ride. The ride was a good length and comfortable, the company nice and I would recommend it to everyone. You just can't see that much of the city at night any other way." - a Tripadvisor user
