As a forewarning, nearly everyone who vacations here does not choose lodging in town.  With clear waters beckoning your call, your best bet is the nearly free lodging available near the lake, including camping and RV parks.  Your kids might like the modern lodging facilities in town, but camping outside is your best bet.  Also, it is mandatory that you take your kids to Little Missouri Falls, one of Arkansas's few natural waterfalls.  Eat lunch near the waterfall and make sure to take a picture.  Little Missouri Falls is also very idyllic, which makes it perfect for couples looking for a romantic time.
