Sedona Arizona Weekend on a Budget

I cherish each and every memory that I've made in Sedona, Arizona. It's a place that has a very deep, personal meaning for me. As such, I spend as much time there as I can, which means that sometimes I need to be frugal with my accommodations, dining, and entertainment. Here is a great list of suggestions for the budget-conscious that are thinking of heading to this beautiful Arizona town.

The second story balcony seating area of Oaxaca Restaurant (pronounced wa-ha-ka) is a great place to relax, enjoy a delicious and reasonably-priced lunch, and watch the town of Sedona bustling away below you. Don't miss their Sopapillas Mexicali!
The shopping village of Tlaquepaque (pronounced teh-lahk-eh-pahk-ee) is uniquely southwestern. Artisans and craftspeople of all types display their wares in this beautiful village, among the stunning views of the red rocks. Live music and arts festivals are frequently scheduled - a GREAT place to while away an afternoon.

The West Fork Hiking Trail, located off of highway 89A in Sedona, is simply spectacular. The trial follows the west fork of Oak Creek, among the cool trees of the Coconino National Forest, and through red rock canyons that Sedona is famous for. The 6-mile round trip trail is most popular (allow 2-3 hours), while the 11-hour round-trip excursion heads into the Secret Mountain/Red Rocks Wilderness.
Located in the heart of uptown Sedona, the Oak Creek Brewing Company is a great place to take a break from your wanderings, enjoy an excellent local brew, and admire the stunning views surrounding you.
The Chapel of the Holy Cross, built right into the red rocks of Sedona, can be seen from miles around and dozens of vantage points in the area. You don't have to be Catholic, or even religious, to visit this area landmark. Great photo opportunity!
