Spend a 5-star Weekend in Scottsdale

When craving sophistication and shopping in the desert southwest, this Arizona local drives to Scottsdale for 5-star accommodations in a 5-star setting. On a 5-star weekend in Scottsdale, I expect luxury accommodations, unique shopping opportunities and world-class spa treatments. Of course I save time for hiking, golf or tennis in a natural setting that rates 5 stars too.

Poised at the base of Camelback Mountain, The Phoenician, a 5 Diamond resort, lives up to its classy name. In addition to swanky digs, elevate your golf game with a complete makeover or tour the $25 million art collection.
Nordstrom's is my first stop when power shopping at Scottsdale's Fashion Square. Valet parking, concierge and personal shopping service make this a luxury stop on my 5-star weekend.

With so many spas in Scottsdale, it's hard to go wrong. But when it's time for my luxury retreat, I escape to the Spa at Gainey Village because of the friendly, accommodating staff.
When I bring my man along on a luxury Scottsdale weekend, he goes golfing while I'm out shopping. Troon North offers two courses, the Monument and the Pinnacle with plenty of golfing action to keep him busy.
A hike that ends with a view is my idea of a 5-star nautural setting. This moderate 3.5-mile-round-trip jaunt leaves time for a trip to the spa.
