Quartzsite Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information
Our Take on Quartzsite, Arizona
Although Quartzsite is a considerably long drive from Arizonian city life, it manages to attract over 1 million visitors every year. If you think Quartzsite is famous for their lush scenery and beautiful terrain, however, you couldn't be further from the truth. Quartzsite, along with being the burial site of Hi Jolly, has garnered international fame for its annual Rock, Gem and Mineral Shows, and many visitors rave about what they find here. This is practically the only reason why anyone, adults or kids, vacation here, so if you want something more exciting, head east to Phoenix. If you want to view thousands of unique minerals, fossils, and gems with your kids however, this is a opportune vacation spot for family friendly vacation. Quartzsite is only known for this, so don't expect to rekindle any romance -- unless talking about natural gems really sparks your passion.
If you plan to vacation here, there is only one thing you need to know: the Rock, Gem, and Minerals Shows. Quartzsite has shows all year long, but plan to vacation during the summer when Quartzsite gets very busy. Also, lodging is limited here, so plan on bring an RV or using Quartzsite's sparse lodging accommodations in town. The view isn't spectacular (especially for your kids), but most aren't keen on a scenic view. We recommend you take advantage of the available RV lodging, which is better than the lodging accommodations inside town.
