Patagonia Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

Our Take on Patagonia, Arizona

Novelist Jim Harrison boasts Patagonia as preposterously beautiful, and he may be right.  Located near the Arizona-Mexico border, Patagonia barely has 1,000 residents, but people vacation here every year to experience little Arizona's "artist's hamlet".  Although this is not a great vacation spot for kids (this won't hold their interests), it's a great vacation spot for adults and romantics who want to experience Mexican culture without visiting Mexico itself.

Patagonia, the biggest attraction in little Arizona, is an international birding destination, as well as a huge tourist hub.  Artists flock here to improve their art; although this is a secret, most couples go here to rekindle that romantic flame.  Surrounded by lush green scenery and calm lakes, Patagonia really is awe-inspiring with so much to do in this little border town.  We suggest you visit Patagonia Lake State Park, where you can view over 300 species of birds and take a romantic lakeside stroll with your beau.  Head to downtown Patagonia to eat at an authentic Mexican restaurant.  Be careful, as this food is known to make people drool.  There are also numerous lodging options nearby, including ranches, contemporary bed and breakfasts, and guest cabins.  For romantic lodging options, choose their cabins, which allows you enough privacy without losing Patagonia's hometown touch.  Make sure to visit their famous Arizona Trail also.  For more lodging, restaurant, attraction, and romantic options, visit Patagonia's official website.
