One Day in Flagstaff, Arizona

Flagstaff is a cozy little mountain town in Arizona that provides for a great getaway for the residents of the Phoenix area craving escape from the summer heat. In winter, Flagstaff is an excellent ski destination, as well. This college town has a great small town feel but still has plenty of shopping, entertainment, and dining options. If you only have one day to spend in Flagstaff, check out the following recommendations.

The Snowbowl Ski Resort is a great destination for even just a single day of skiing. Several lodges provide simple fare and a spot to warm up during your day on the slopes, and recent approval for snow making machines will extend the ski season beyond that which mother nature can accommodate.

The Museum of Northern Arizona features exhibits from regional Native American cultures such as the Hopi, Navajo, and Zuni.

Black Bart's Steakhouse Saloon
Black Bart's has the best steaks in Arizona, hands down. Their bacon wrapped filet is to die for! Beware, for those of you who aren't into music and song, Black Barts also hosts a musical review. From the website, "While you dine, The Black Barts' Singers provide a nightly musical revue of old time favorites and foot-tapping showtunes."
