Families Dig Flagstaff, Arizona (and the Surrounding Area)

What do Flagstaff, Arizona and Louis Sachar have in common? They know that kids love a good hole in the ground. Flagstaff is full of history, art and scenic beauty, it's perfect for hiking, skiing and camping and there are enough holes for everyone!

Meteor Crater is one big hole in the ground. It's a mile across and 550 feet deep. It was created about 50,000 years ago by an asteroid traveling at 26,000 miles per hour. In the summer guests can ride the Scenic Skyride up the mountain (it's an extinct volcano!) where there is still plenty of snow at the top to frolic and play in. Also, disc golf! More
