Located just 20 miles away from the Tennessee state border, Scottsboro is home to many things, including Scottsboro's famous Scottsboro's Trade Days and Goose Pond Colony.  In addition to being a kid friendly town, Scottsboro's accommodations host many southern-inspired lodging, nestled along beautiful Lake Gurtersville.  For a kid friendly outing, visit their main attraction, Goose Pond Colony.  Along with a 1500-seat amphitheater and a walking trail, your kids will enjoy the nearby restaurant for quick, southern cuisine.  You can even stay for the night with their own personal campsite lodging. 

Looking for something different?  Scottsboro also holds the only Unclaimed Baggage Center in the United States.  All items here are for sale – and it is very, very cheap.  To end your day, stay in one of their southern-style lodging accommodations, with friendly staff willing to accommodate to your needs.  Better yet, most of these lodgings overlook scenic Lake Gurthersville, a quiet, romantic touch.  However, most of Scottsboro's attractions have kid friendly options for busy family vacations.  We do recommend visiting Scottsboro in the earlier summer months, such as May or June.  The weather here is too harsh during the later summer months.  For more lodging and general information, visit Scottsboro's official website.
