OUR TAKE ON MOODY

Exciting family vacations can happen in Moody, Alabama. The city of Moody, which is part of the St. Clair County, was named after the family who first settled in the area in the 1820s. Centuries later, the pioneering spirit of Moody folks never waned and the city hosts numerous state-of-the-art parks, fields, and recreation centers that offer nothing less than thrilling adventures. There is the 50-acre Moody City Park and Recreation which has 8 lighted baseball/softball fields, 2 soccer fields, 1 football field, 4 tennis courts, and 1 volleyball court. To say that it is huge is putting it mildly. This park also has a walking track, a playground, and a pavilion. Another important place that the family must visit is the Moody Miracle League. A visit to this charitable organization can make family vacations more meaningful. The organization allows children who are mentally and/or physically challenged to engage in sports such as baseball. This is why it is described as “miracle.”

If one or all of the members of the family are fishing enthusiasts, then another thing to do in Moody is to visit the nearby Logan Martin Lake, where 3 Bass Masters Classic world championships have been held. And still another nearby exciting attraction is the Talladega Superspeedway. It is for those who acknowledged the Americans’ need for speed.
