Docked at the port, this ship, which has won 9 World War II battle stars, rises magnificently to give honor to the soldiers who dedicated their lives for the country. Then, the family vacation can become more adventurous especially when the kids get inside the newest tourist attraction in Mobile: the 5 Rivers: Alabama Delta Resource Center. If the traveler wanted an exciting cultural experience, the time to visit Mobile is in January and February, when the Mardi Gras is celebrated. Mobile folks are proud to claim that they celebrate the first-known American Mardi Gras, which was in 1703.
