Mobile Vacations, Tourism & Travel Information

OUR TAKE ON MOBILE

Tourism is a flourishing industry in Mobile, Alabama. There are numerous Mobile lodgings and Mobile restaurants that can take care of most needs of the family. And there are several unique things to do in Mobile.

First, the family vacation will have a memorable lesson in biology by visiting the exhibit named “Our Body: The Universe Within.” The exhibit showcases actual human bodies and organs that were preserved in order to present a fascinating way of learning about the body. After the family has recovered from this exhibit, the next thing to do is to visit the Museum of Mobile’s We Remember. It is does not have life-size displays but it provides an extensive photographic collection of the Second World War.

Then, continuing on the same theme, the family can get inside the USS Alabama Battleship. Docked at the port, this ship, which has won 9 World War II battle stars, rises magnificently to give honor to the soldiers who dedicated their lives for the country. Then, the family vacation can become more adventurous especially when the kids get inside the newest tourist attraction in Mobile: the 5 Rivers: Alabama Delta Resource Center. If the traveler wanted an exciting cultural experience, the time to visit Mobile is in January and February, when the Mardi Gras is celebrated. Mobile folks are proud to claim that they celebrate the first-known American Mardi Gras, which was in 1703.
