The Gulf State Park is more than 6,000 acres in area and includes 2 ½ miles of beach, a freshwater lake, several nature trails, and a beach pavilion. The Gulf Shores Museum, which is originally a beach house that was converted into a museum after Hurricane Fredrick, showcased an artifact collection, a small butterfly garden, a library, a recreation center, a Lagoon Village exhibit, and an electrifying video of Hurricane Hunters.
