OUR TAKE ON GADSDEN
The Gadsden vacations can be one of the most poignant romantic getaways when the romantic couple decides to go up the Lookout Mountain Parkway and watch the beauty of the Noccalula Falls. This natural waterfall is Alabama’s most famous natural tourist attraction because of the park that features botanical gardens, miniature golf, pioneer village, children’s playground, a gauge railroad with a tour train, and a spacious RV campground that includes a swimming pool.
But why will the romantic getaway become nostalgic? This is due to the tragic legend of the Noccalula Falls. According to the legend, a beautiful Indian girl refused to marry a man chosen by her father because she loved another man. To escape the arranged marriage, she threw herself over the rushing waters. In remorse, the father named the falls after her, Noccalula.
Despite this sad story, Gadsden vacations can be fund kid-friendly vacations when the family visits the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts. There are many interesting activities that are geared towards the enjoyment of children and their families. One of the venues for summer activities is the Imagination Place Children’s Museum. Here, family vacations become camping adventures. There are summer camps, 5-day camps, camps that include safaris and golf lessons, camps in a wild water park, and camps that involve children in nature photography and artifact printing.
